Sundancers Dominating Triathlons

Santa Barbara Triathlon 2011Two of our amazing Sundancers participated in the Carpinteria Triathlon on Sunday. These same two employees also participated in the Santa Barbara Triathlon about a month ago! Kim and Scott are definitely great triathletes, both placing in the top 3 in their age divisions! So, yes, the word “dominating” that I used in the title is completely legitimate.

Kim placed 3rd in her age division at the Santa Barbara Triathlon and Scott placed 2nd in Kim Wilson at Carpinteria Triathlonhis age division. They both completed the Co-ed Sprint course: 500 yard swim, 6 mile bike, and 2 mile run. Overall, Scott placed 23rd and Kim placed 116 out of 331 people.

The courses were longer at the Carpinteria Triathlon. Kim completed the Sprint course with 471 others: .5k swim, 9 mile bike, and 3 mile run. Scott completed the Olympic course: 1.5k swim, 24 mile bike, and 6 mile run. Kim was just 1 minute away from 3rd place in her age division, which is extremely frustrating because she had a bike malfunction at one point! Shucks. Kim still, however, managed to place 186 out of 471 people! Scott placed 3rd in his age division, and 28th overall out of 272 people.

Scott Otis at Carpinteria TriathlonCongrats to our AWESOME Sundancers! We are all very proud! 🙂
