Sundance Beach Pioneers are different from your everyday surf shop team riders. Our Pioneers are leaders in their communities and forge a path for others to follow. Whether it’s through surfing, art, music, or multimedia production, our Pioneers blaze a trail into the unknown world of tomorrow while having fun in the process.
Our Pioneer Demi Boelsterli is the best female surfer that Santa Barbara has produced in many years. With nine Rincon Classic titles, a VQS championship title, and a big APSS win last fall, Demi basically wins just about every contest she enters. Now, she has her sights set on qualifying for the women’s ASP World Tour! And rightfully so. She has a lethal combo of powerful turns and above the lip maneuvers that are sought after by ASP judges.
However, surfing is not the only passion in Demi’s life. Through art and photography, Demi has found a way to express her creativity. Whether it’s drawing with pencil or painting with oils, her art is unique and abstract. Her photography is equally expressive, and blurs the lines between the people and places that she experiences. To see a cool display of her art and photography check out Andrew Schoener‘s interview on the Santa Barbara Perspective. And it doesn’t stop there! Mrs. Boelsterli has also collaborated with friends to produce a line of art inspired tee’s called Friday Night Amateurs!
Check out Demi this Saturday, May 11th at the first contest of the American Pro Surf Series at Huntington Beach! Watch the LIVE WEBCAST here!
