Quick and Easy Summer Solstice Outfits
Can’t be in the Summer Solstice Parade, but wish you could? Don’t fret! Just dress like you are!
The Summer Solstice Parade began in 1974, as a birthday celebration for a popular artist and mime named Michael Gonzales, a relative of mine! The parade eventually joined forces with a Summer Solstice Music Festival to celebrate the longest day of year. People wear elaborate costumes and the brightest , which fits right along with this year’s theme “Fantasy.” Here are some colorful outfits that will make you feel right at home at the parade and festival this year!
Proclaim peace with Mother Nature by supporting the green movement while wearing this Billabong Peace Surf Tank! Make your outfit pop by rocking the Volcom Frochickie 2 1/2″ Short and bright-colored Slim Havaianas! Bring your L*Space Beach Keen Tote to keep your cell phone, camera, and Headhunter Adult SPF 50 Sunscreen Spray safe and out of the sun!
Get your retro groove on in the Volcom Unda Cova Love tank dress and Volcom A List Creedler Sandal! Protect your face, and keep your outfit totally brand loyal, by wearing the Volcom Say Cheese Hat! Instead of dealing with all of the traffic from the parade and festival, why not skate to the parade by riding the Roxy Deep End Bamboo Skateboard? Saving the environment one skate at a time.
Show a little skin while keeping yourself modestly covered in this peachy-orange Love Marks Long Dress! With its sheer outer layer and shorter inside lining, it will keep you comfortably cool while sitting in your Wet Products Balboa Beach Chair! Its too difficult wearing a dress while sitting on a curb; a chair is a much better idea! Protect your pretty face from the hot sun by wearing the adorable polka dot Volcom Hot Dot Beach Hat. Make people wonder what new style Rainbow Sandals you’re wearing–The Tango from Sundance Beach, duh.
Do you still wish you were at Coachella? Its okay. Throw on your Billabong Trail Hopper tank and Roxy Oyster Shells Beach pant and relive your experience at the parade and festival downtown! However, this time you MUST document your future-awesome weekend by filming it on your GoPro HD Hero 2 Outdoor edition camera. Color coordinate your outfit by putting on your Volcom Kahli Straw Fedora and Slim Havaianas!
Match some of the extreme floats in the parade by wearing a tropical floral print seen on the O’Neill Susan Tank top! Don’t even worry about getting your white O’Neill Be Free shorts dirty from sitting on the street because you’ll be sitting on your Billabong Laying Low Towel. Throw on your simple and chic O’Neill Trilogy sandal, which matches perfectly with your top! You’ll be good to go as long as you pack your Sun Bum SPF 50 Lotion. We don’t want you coming home with a terrible sunburn.
